Today I Decide to Grieve

Have you ever felt weird grieving for someone that you barely know now or barely knew at all or you once knew well or you didn't know at all ? Don't stop yourself from grieving because it is in acknowledging the loss of a human life, no matter how far or near to you, no matter how expected or surprising, no matter how young or old, that we become more connected to each other. Grief is part of what makes us human. We grieve because we are human and we are human because we grieve.

We grieve for the loved ones that are left behind. We grieve for someone we don't actually know but whose small legacy goes on through the stories of the people we do know. We grieve for vague memories, for unsung songs and unspoken words, for photos that will now always bring a tug to the heart.

We grieve. Life will go on. But allow yourself to grieve.

IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING:

Write down all the things you can remember about the person you’re grieving for right now.

JOURNALING PROMPT

What are things that you want people to do for you to help you grieve? Do you find it easy to ask for these things?
